The day after Thanksgiving, also coined Black Friday, is known to be the busiest day of the year for retailers, bringing in high volumes of customers. However, it’s not just your local outlet center bringing in business. For plumbers, waking up bright and early is the only way to be able to complete all of their appointments on this busy day.

Why is this

Whether you watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade or you tune into ESPN for the annual Thanksgiving football games, one thing all of us West Texans have in common is our love for food. And, Thanksgiving is the pinnacle of that with dishes such as savory Turkey, stuffing, and apple pie decorating the table. But you may want to stop and think before scraping the leftovers of your grandma’s famous green bean casserole off your plate. It may help you from a stomach ache, but you will feel the pain when the garbage disposal isn’t working. In fact, the number one reason plumbers are called out to a home is that of garbage disposals, and clogged kitchen sink drains.

And, if your home is the family’s annual Thanksgiving spot, your bathrooms may need a little TLC as well. High traffic in your home’s bathrooms is another reason plumbers are called.

When to call

You can purchase liquid drain cleaners from your local supercenter or home improvement store. However, if the problem doesn’t subside within a couple of hours you need to call a plumber as your pipes could receive damage quickly, and the clog may worsen over time. Calling promptly not only keeps your home plumbing safe but can potentially save you a mess.
