The pesky stains on sinks, bathtubs, showers, and toilets are hard water stains, and they are challenging to clean. However, there’s no need to use costly chemical cleaners. Vinegar, baking soda, and Borax (we’ll explain) will do the trick.
Toilets-Vinegar and Baking Soda
Start by pouring a cup of vinegar into the toilet and stirring it with a toilet brush. You can let it sit for a minute before the next step. Next, add 1 cup of baking soda to the bowl and another cup of vinegar. Allow the bowl to fizz for 10 minutes. Grab your toilet brush and swish the solution around the bowl; get all stains above the water line. Let the solution sit awhile and scrub any extra stains, flush the bowl when donePour a ¼ cup of Borax into the toilet bowl and swish it with a brush. Next, add 1 cup of vinegar and let the mixture sit for 20 minutes Finally, scrub the bowl to remove all stains and flush!
Faucets and Showerheads-White Vinegar
Soak a rag in white vinegar. Next, wrap your rags snugly around the hard water-stained faucet or showerhead. Leave the rags on for an hour or more; add more vinegar if necessary Unravel the rags to see if the stains have dissolved. If they have, rub the area with a clean towel or sponge If the area still has some stubborn stains, either reapply the rags and repeat or try using a scrub brush
